Problem
Dennis Cooper Cars were finding it too time consuming to
calculate the sales analysis figures that Peugeot head office
required them to supply. Their difficulty was due to the
lack of cost and sales accounting within their operation,
so that they could not easily calculate the total cost of
every car sold.
Solution
Tailor Made Software wrote a program which allows them to
log all the separate costs incurred in the sales process.
The program has the following key features:

is easy to enter the costs logged, either on a daily basis,
or when the vehicle is sold.
The program produces many analysis reports, which
allow sales and profit figures to be calculated whenever
needed.
The program
allows the user to search through the database of vehicles
in stock, or sold, and select just the required vehicles
for reporting. This allows specialised reports to be set-up
by the user.
The
program produces a variety of sales analysis graphs, which
are used to help with informing and motivating the work
force.
The
enhanced sales analysis improves ordering, as it helps Dennis
Cooper Cars calculate the best mix of models to be stocked
throughout the year.
The timely management reports produced by the program allow
strategic decisions to be made using accurate information.
Result
Dennis Cooper Cars now have up-to-date and accurate
sales and profitability information, which allows them to
run their business more efficiently than ever before. They
were so satisfied with Tailor Made Software's service that
they later commissioned us to write several other programs.
After installing these sophisticated computer
systems, and improving their manual systems, they were so
confident of their high level of competence and quality
that they applied for BS5750 approval, which was attained
without difficulty. They were the first Peugeot dealer in
the country to win this award.
