Company History
Tailor Made Software was founded in 1988 by Neil
and Martha Stainton. Currently we number five full time
employees and partners, and we also have several associates
that work for us on a contract basis. We believe that our
staff are our most important asset, and thus consider education
and training to be of vital importance. All staff are university
graduates, having degrees in appropriate subjects - mostly
Computer Science or Maths.
From the start, our business has been the production of
bespoke software for small, medium and large local and national
companies. After developing applications in Turbo Pascal
and several dBASE dialects we moved to Paradox
2 in late 1988. From 1988 to 1993 all our programs were
developed in Paradox.
In 1992 we were accredited by Borland International
as an Audited System Developer for Paradox database
development.
In late 1992 we responded to customer demand for
Windows applications by providing solutions based
on Microsoft's Access database. Subsequently we added
Borland's Paradox for Windows and C++
to our programming repertoire.
At the start of 1994 we started to use Borland's
Delphi for serious development work as soon as it became
available.
In 1997 we setup our own server on the Internet
and started selling web space and email services.
In 1998 we started writing applications using MS
SQL Server as the back-end database.
In 1999 we started concentrating on Microsoft's
Active Server Pages (ASP) technology for creating Internet
and Intranet applications and intelligent web sites.
In 2000 we installed a permanent Internet connection
to our office, to allow us to better manage our Internet
Servers and use the Internet to its potential.
In 2001 we added a qualified web designer
to our staff, and renamed the company IT
Partnership to better indicate the wide range
of services we offer our customers.
In 2002 we added expertise in Microsoft's
.net languages, and started developing online applications
using ASP.net technology.
